Delaware North’s parks and resorts division was invited to bid on a contract for Grand Canyon National Park for visitor services at the remote North Rim region. The proposal was focused around preserving the natural environment of the North Rim, while still enhancing the guest experience and making much needed improvements to the facilities. The client wanted the proposal to visually reflect this intent, maintaining a minimal approach focused around the natural beauty of the canyon, while still making an impact.
The exterior packaging is a 3D representation of the North Rim’s landscape, created from topographic maps of the canyon. The layers were cut from museum quality solid-core mat board matched to the types of rock found in this part of the canyon. The deep emerald green found in the waterways became the primary color for this earthy palette. The binder and tabs within also maintain a minimal aesthetic, focused on large hero images of stunning landscapes from the region.
