Caplugs is a manufacturer that specializes in making caps and plugs for different industrial needs. Their automotive division was in need of a custom sales kit for their team to showcase their products to prospective clients. These parts are all different shapes and sizes, and needed to be categorized based on their application. They wanted something sleek, durable, and unique that could be traveled with by plane if necessary. There was a need for a printed guide as well, that gave specific details of all of the parts in the case.
The design of this case was meant to look industrial, heavily inspired by automotive design. The exterior shell is an injection molded plastic component that was painted with a glossy metallic silver finish. The interior features red foam inserts that are custom-fitted to each part, and finished with a glossy black acrylic which is printed with each part name — color-coded by category. The product guide is printed on metallic silver stock and bound with a single Chicago screw, making it effortless to flip through.
